Confronting Human Dignity, Justice, and Equal Rights Issues

We hold these rights to be self evident, that all are created equal, that we are endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights. That among these rights are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness......
Such are the words upon which the United States was founded. It was in these very words that many found the determination to move the world forward toward Justice, Equality, and Dignity, as well as Freedom, for all. It was in these words and in the determination to move these truths forward that many sacrificed their very lives, so that we might realize their dream.
Those words resounded around the globe to encourage other countries to offer freedom, and those words are still resounding throughout the minds of mankind.
All Are created equal. Though powerful words, because they are true, these are mere words for those who still have not realized that it is their own duty to stand up for their own rights, or have yet to gain the courage to do so. It is all of our duties to encourage any and all who are yet oppressed to so do.
Each of us around the world should ask, "What am I willing to give, what am I willing to offer, what am I willing to sacrifice, that this dream of equality and freedom both for myself, and to be equally shared in by all?"
Martin Luther King Jr. made a very profound statement indeed, upon stating: "Never forget that freedom is not something that is voluntarily given by the oppressor. It is something that must be demanded by the oppressed".
Equality. A dream or a reality? That is up to each of us with whom we share this planet. Buddha taught put no head above your own. Neither, put any head below it, as those who might attempt to oppress us would do. We are each and every one of us a vital part of all that is. Man or woman, black, white, or asian, of all races, colors or creeds, gay, straight, or otherwise, none are better or lesser in worth and potential than any other.
All are doing the best they can within the circumstance of their existence. However, all too often, the best some can do is to believe they are better or more deserving than others, and they can look scornfully at those they deem as their lessers. And the best some others can do, is to allow such arrogance to oppress them, without even a word, let alone any action, of self defence.
But let it be know, none can be oppressed, without having themselves allowed it. None can be enslaved, not to any government, religion, belief, or tyranny, or individual, without allowing themselves to be subjected to such, whether they yet know it, or not.
It is up to each and every one of us to recognize when we are being oppressed, whether it is by our own false beliefs, or by the beliefs or actions of others, and it is up to those who find they are oppressed to find the courage and the willingness to demand that their own inalienable rights to justice, equality, dignity, and freedom be honored. It is also the duty of those who are aware of such, to encourage these rights, and to defend the defenceless and the marginalized with whom we share this world.
Men, Women, Children of every race, color, creed, or sexuality, indeed all that has life, are equally entitled to life and equal rights. The League is dedicated to defending the equal rights of all of mankind, and vigilantly standing guard to ensure that future generations are
We certainly ask of the animal and plant world to sacrifice the life that is within each, in order that we may be nourished. Should we not honor the life that nourishes our own? Should we not strive that our own lives and works be a sacrifice to the common good of all? Of course we should, but such choices come from looking at all from a higher level than just our own selfish interests or gain.
The League is committed to such. May we always be on guard for such within our own selves, and be vigilant over all that would threaten with oppression and tyranny.
